I'm working on it right now. Idea

Adding sessions counter, HTTP referers management ...and maybe collection and statistics related to UserAgent information (browser name and version, platform, screen resolution, bots?)...

It depends on... free time. Rolling Eyes

Please, use this thread for questions regarding this new version. Thanks!

Added a new counter to separate unique visits (or Sessions) from the Hits Counter. You can see it here already. :eusa_dance:

Also added a new block to show Top Referers. This information is collected in the same place as the counter, so it catches portal and forum referers.

Now it's time for the AdminCP applet to manage the Referers table...

Edited: this text was on first post, but I redessigned the announcement...

During these 3 days... I have discovered some sites simulating (spamming) links to my site.

It seems they like the idea to appear in the list of referers as if it was a free ad system... too bad.

I'm going to write a Ban feature, so the admin can easilly set if a site will be seen in the TopReferers block or not. Razz

Well, the Referers Management has been somehow extended (I updated the screenshot in previous post)...

Now, all new records in the Referers table are disabled by default, so they will not appear in the TopReferers block without notice.

Then you will be able to enable or disable any referer through the updated AdmiCP applet.

Does it mean I should check this table just to enable new referers?
Well, if you don't care or do not wish to spend time checking, you can set the TopReferers block to be able to show disabled referers. Using block parameter... you can also set how many referers you wish to show on the list.

Do you think there's a better way to deal with this?
No problem, suggestions are welcome. Smile

Please, use this thread.

More to come...

Thank you guys, for the feedback. Smile

I'm adding this cause my hosting has Webalizer, and basically the only referers I see here are internal addresses.

...and I think it adds little overhead on the server.

So I hope you may find it usefull too.

Will post info on this dev soon.

Cheers

Will mx-sitestats allow multiple graphics for the hit counters?

hmmm.... do you mean dynamically sending graphics instead of text for the numbers?

Can you post a link for some examples, please?

Well, for hit counters like the one at my site at www.mfnetwork.2ya.com, the hit counter providers allow multiple graphics for the counters- the number fits in with the background, but I don't think it's technically called text.

http://counter.sparklit.com/counter.img?ID=208242&gentime=1085782018

That's an example of a graphic one. Also, counters from www.beseen.com and www.freecounters.com allow various types of graphics.

I think so.

Thanks

Ok, I see. Thanks, I forgot about this feature, and it's really a nice idea.

Today I have been learning how other webcounters deal with graphics, and it's really easy.

Then, I thought about creating a couple of image packs, but after I while I thought, what are you doing, man? ...there should be something out there... and bingo!

Smile

Cheers

  • This is the new panel to manage SiteStats Settings:

  • Updated version history in release notes.

hmmm... I feel the need to release and see what happens... the UserAgent stuff should wait for a while then... :eusa_think:
